Arid Offroad is the old TJM Alice Springs shop under new colours. It’s been trading in the Red Centre since 1973. The yard sits on Whittaker Street in the Alice industrial area. You’ll find 4WD accessories, camping products and a workshop that fits what you buy. Their pitch is that staff vet every product for the conditions out here, and that’s the right test. Corrugations, heat and distance eat cheap gear alive.

Stop here before the Tanami, the Plenty Highway, the Binns Track or the Mereenie Loop. Sort suspension, recovery gear, fridge slides, dual-battery gremlins and spare parts while you’re still on bitumen with a phone signal. Alice has other 4WD outfitters, so ring ahead and compare stock if you’re after something specific. Hours change, so verify ahead. Fitment jobs book out in peak dry season, May to September. Don’t roll in at 4pm on a Friday expecting a same-day install.
