Cabo Pulmo Beach Camp — Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo
This is the end-of-the-road camp for the East Cape run — a sandy, open-air site right at the edge of the Sea of Cortez inside CONANP-managed Cabo Pulmo National Park. Expect basic infrastructure: pit toilets, no hookups, no showers, and a strict no-generator policy in some zones. The reef is a 10-minute walk from your rig. Crowds peak December through March with snowbirds and divers. Fire restrictions apply — check with park rangers at the entrance station before lighting anything.
Access from Los Barriles runs south on the East Cape road (Carretera Federal 1 south, then east on the unpaved coastal track) — a mix of graded dirt and washboard that High-clearance 2WD can handle in dry conditions. Heavy rains can make the arroyo crossings impassable. Cell service is minimal. Fill water before you leave Los Barriles or La Ribera — there is none here.
Reef-side camp at the East Cape's crown jewel.
