Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park

World-class reef snorkeling and diving at one of North America's most successful marine recovery stories.

Cabo Pulmo protects the only living coral reef on the Pacific coast of North America, with visibility often exceeding 100 feet and massive schools of jacks, rays, and sharks. The small village has basic services including dive shops, simple restaurants, and a few places to stay. Most overlanders camp on nearby beaches or use the informal camping areas around town.

Access is via a washboard dirt road that branches east from Highway 1 near La Ribera. The 8-mile approach can be rough after storms. Peak season runs November through April when seas are calmest and visibility best. Bring your own drinking water and supplies.
