Camping El Torcal de Antequera — Paraje Natural Sierra del Torcal
El Torcal de Antequera is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed karst plateau where twisted limestone towers rise out of the sierra like something from another planet. This campground sits at the base of the reserve, giving you direct trailhead access to the marked walking routes and a genuine base for exploring the interior Andalusian ranges. It’s a proper site — shaded pitches, toilets, hot showers, and enough space for rigs with roof tents or trailers. It gets busy in spring and on long weekends when the Spanish hiking crowd rolls in, so arrive early or reserve ahead in April and October.
Access is via the A-7075 from Antequera town, roughly 13 km of mostly paved road with a short gravel approach near the visitor centre. The reserve road has a weight limit and gets one-way during peak hours — check the park signage on arrival. No fires allowed inside the reserve; camp stoves only. Cell signal is spotty on site.
Karst giants and a solid base camp.
