Camping Kasbah Azul — Zagora Desert Overland Basecamp
Camping Kasbah Azul sits on the southern fringe of Zagora, the last proper town before the piste network swallows you whole on the way to M’Hamid. It’s a genuine established camp: walled compound, shaded pitches under palms and tamarisk, hot showers that actually work, flush toilets, and a camp kitchen. Overlanders, motos, and roof-tent rigs share the yard. It fills up in October–March when the circuit riders and Paris–Dakar nostalgia tours roll through. Fires depend on season — ask on arrival.
Access is straightforward off the N9 through Zagora — paved all the way, any rig. This is your last reliable fuel, water, and sim-card top-up point before the Draa valley track south. Use it. Stock water, confirm tire pressure, and get your Moroccan waypoints sorted before leaving the tarmac.
Last real camp before the Draa piste.
