Sinamatella Camp — Hwange National Park

Established Campground

Sinamatella sits on a granite ridge overlooking a floodlit waterhole in the far north of Hwange National Park, and it delivers. Elephant, lion, and wild dog push through the valley below on a near-nightly basis. The camp runs a handful of basic chalets plus a designated camping area with ablution blocks, flush toilets, and cold showers. Capacity is limited and the vibe is genuine bush — no resort nonsense. Book through Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority well in advance, especially June through October when game concentrations peak.

Access is via a graded dirt road northwest from Hwange Main Camp — roughly 50 km of corrugated surface that needs a high-clearance vehicle, particularly after rains. Fuel is not reliably available at Sinamatella; top up in Hwange town before committing to this corner of the park. The camp sits at the northern end of the Nzou Game Track corridor, making it the natural terminus for rigs running the Deka Safari Area route.
