Bell Gorge Campground — Gibb River Road Silent Grove Station
Bell Gorge Campground sits inside the Silent Grove pastoral station on the Gibb River Road, roughly 100 km east of Derby. It’s a DPIRD-managed site with basic pit toilets and a short walk to Bell Creek Gorge — one of the genuinely spectacular swimming holes on the entire Gibb run. Expect a mix of tent and vehicle setups on cleared grassy ground under sparse shade trees. It fills fast in peak dry season (June–August), so arriving by early afternoon is smart. Generator hours are enforced and fires are typically banned due to dry season fire risk.
Access requires crossing a couple of shallow creek crossings off the Gibb — high-clearance 4WD essential. The last stretch into camp is corrugated dirt. Pit toilets only, no potable water on site — carry what you need. Fees collected on arrival via honesty box or ranger. Check DPIRD WA for current site closures before heading out.
