This municipal campground sits right in Telluride at the base of a cirque of 13,000-foot peaks. Thirty-eight sites with full hookups, flush toilets, and hot showers — a rare luxury after days on rough mountain passes. Sites are close together on relatively flat ground with mature trees providing some privacy. Gets packed during festival season (summer) and fall colors, so reservations are essential May through October.
Access is paved all the way in via CO-145. The park doubles as the town’s festival venue, so expect crowds and noise during events. Winter closures run November through April depending on snow. Sites accommodate rigs up to 40 feet, though maneuvering can be tight.
