Tchesinkut Lake Provincial Park Campground — Lakes District

Established Campground

Tchesinkut Lake Provincial Park is a low-key BC Parks campground on the south shore of Tchesinkut Lake, about 30 km south of Burns Lake. It’s a manageable, quiet spot with basic facilities — pit toilets, fire rings, and lakefront sites that actually have some separation between them. The lake warms up enough by July for a swim, which after a day grinding the Tchesinkut Lake FSR toward Murray Ridge, is exactly what you need. Around 20 sites, first-come first-served.

Access from Burns Lake is paved most of the way with a short gravel stretch to the park entrance — most rigs handle it without issue. Season runs roughly May through October depending on snowpack. Burns Lake is your fuel and resupply stop before committing to the Lakes District backcountry. Signal here is minimal to none. Bring your own firewood or gather deadfall — no wood sold on site.

Warm lake, quiet sites, gateway to Lakes District FSR.
