Signpost Forest

Watson Lake's famous collection of over 80,000 directional signs from travelers worldwide — an Alaska Highway institution since 1942.

What started as a homesick U.S. Army soldier posting a sign pointing toward his hometown has grown into a forest of over 80,000 signs from every corner of the globe. Overlanders have been adding their own markers here for 80+ years, making it one of the most recognizable stops on the entire Alaska Highway. The visitor center next door has clean restrooms, WiFi, and local information.

Located right in Watson Lake at the junction of the Alaska and Campbell Highways. Bring a sign from your hometown or make one on the road — hardware store in town sells materials. Popular photo stop, so expect crowds during summer peak season.
