Sequoia National Forest Peppermint Creek Dispersed Area
Scattered camping spots along Peppermint Creek Road in the Sequoia National Forest, surrounded by giant sequoias and mixed conifer forest at 7,000+ feet elevation. Sites are informal pullouts along the creek with room for 4-6 rigs total, offering shade and the sound of running water. Popular with hunters in fall and backpackers accessing the Golden Trout Wilderness.
Access via rough dirt Peppermint Creek Road from Highway 190 east of Porterville. Road deteriorates after mile 8 – high clearance recommended. Snow closes access November through May. No facilities, pack out all trash. Creek provides water but treat before drinking.
