Osceola National Forest Sandhill Lake Dispersed Sites
Scattered primitive sites around the edges of Sandhill Lake, a 40-acre natural lake surrounded by longleaf pine and wiregrass. Most sites offer lake views with direct access for fishing and small watercraft. Established fire rings and relatively level parking areas. Popular with bass fishermen and hunters during season. Can get busy on weekends but midweek stays are typically quiet.
Access via Forest Road 250 off US Highway 90, then Forest Road 268 for 1.5 miles to the lake. Roads are sand and can be soft after heavy rain but generally passable for any vehicle. No facilities beyond the sites themselves. Bring water and pack out all trash. Fire restrictions during dry periods.
