Medicine Bow National Forest Brush Creek Campground
Tucked into a aspen and spruce grove along Brush Creek, this 20-site campground sits in cool mountain air while the plains below bake. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box. Vault toilets and hand-pump well water available. Sites accommodate up to 40-foot rigs, though the access road has some tight turns that challenge larger units.
Open typically June through September, weather dependent. Sites fill quickly on summer weekends due to the elevation and cooler temperatures. No reservations — first-come basis only. The rough gravel access road requires attention but is manageable for most vehicles. Popular base camp for exploring the Sierra Madre mountains and nearby wilderness areas.
