Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp — Klondike Highway Corridor
Liarsville sits a few miles north of Skagway on the road toward White Pass, named for the tent city of journalists who camped here during the 1898 stampede. The campground is a small, developed site operated under state and municipal oversight — think pull-through sites on gravel, pit toilets, and enough flat ground for a couple of rigs. It’s not fancy, but it’s the closest developed camp to Skagway proper if you’re staging for the White Pass climb or just rolled off the ferry and need to get horizontal before pushing north on the Klondike Highway.
Access is straightforward — paved road right off the Skagway approach, suitable for any rig including trailers. Summer season only; this corridor gets hammered by cruise traffic June through August, so arrive mid-week if you want peace and quiet. Cell signal is spotty to partial depending on your carrier. Confirm current operating status with the City of Skagway before routing here.
