La Bufadora Blowhole

Point of Interest

La Bufadora is a natural blowhole carved into the coastal cliffs south of Ensenada, where incoming waves get compressed through an underwater cave and explode skyward. On big swell days, the spray reaches 100 feet high and soaks anyone standing on the viewing platform. The surrounding area has become a tourist market with local vendors selling everything from churros to handmade crafts. Parking can be tight during weekends and holidays.

Access via the coastal road from Ensenada — about 31 kilometers of winding pavement through wine country, then down to the coast. The final stretch gets crowded, so arrive early in the day. Best viewing is during high tide with strong swells, usually winter months. Small entrance fee collected at the parking area.
