Kiptopeke State Park Campground
Beachfront state park with 77 campsites including RV sites with full hookups. The real draw is the concrete ships offshore — old World War II vessels sunk as a breakwater. Fishing pier, boat launch, and swimming beach access. Sites are mostly open with scattered pines providing minimal shade. Gets windy off the bay.
Reservations strongly recommended April through October. Popular with RV crowd but tent camping works fine. Good base camp for exploring Virginia’s barrier islands or Cape Charles area. Park road is paved but some sites require backing skills for longer rigs.
