Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park Nossob Rest Camp
Nossob Rest Camp sits in the remote northern section of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, positioned along the fossil Nossob riverbed that forms the Botswana border. The camp offers 24 chalets and camping sites with basic facilities — toilets, cold showers, and a small shop with limited supplies. The riverbed’s scattered camel thorn trees provide minimal shade, making this a harsh but rewarding desert experience. Game viewing is exceptional, particularly for cheetah, lion, and brown hyena drawn to the seasonal water points.
Access requires the full 160km drive north from Twee Rivieren on deep sand tracks — 4WD essential and expect 3-4 hours driving time. Fuel available but expensive; top off at Twee Rivieren. The camp operates on solar power with no cell service. Bring all food and plenty of water. Summer temperatures exceed 45°C, making winter months (May-September) far more comfortable for camping.
