Kangerlussuaq Tundra Lodge Water Well
Deep artesian well at the historic Tundra Lodge compound, providing clean freshwater for vehicles and camp use. Hand pump setup requires some effort but delivers excellent quality water that doesn’t need filtration. The lodge structures are mostly abandoned but the well infrastructure remains solid and is regularly maintained by research teams.
Located about 3 kilometers east of Kangerlussuaq Airport on the old mining road. Well-marked with cairns and visible from the main Watson River trail. Essential stop before heading deeper into the ice margin routes where surface water can be unreliable or contaminated with glacial silt.
