Guadalupe River State Park

Hill Country refuge with spring-fed swimming holes and bald cypress groves along the pristine Guadalupe River.

Sprawling across 1,938 acres of Hill Country limestone and oak savanna, this state park centers on four miles of the spring-fed Guadalupe River. The campground offers both developed sites with water/electric and primitive backpacking areas, plus day-use areas with river access for swimming and tubing. Bald cypress trees line the riverbanks, and the park stays busy on summer weekends when Austin and San Antonio folks escape the heat.

Located between Boerne and New Braunfels on Park Road 31, the park connects via a short trail system to the adjacent Honey Creek State Natural Area. River levels can fluctuate based on upstream releases, but the spring-fed sections maintain decent flow year-round. Reserve ahead for weekend camping—this place fills up fast during tubing season.
