Galbraith Lake Dispersed Camping

Remote alpine lake camping at mile 275 with stunning Brooks Range views and excellent fishing for arctic char and grayling.

This pristine alpine lake sits right beside the Dalton Highway at mile 275, offering some of the most scenic dispersed camping on the haul road. The crystal-clear water reflects the surrounding Brooks Range peaks, and the fishing for arctic char and lake trout is excellent. Multiple informal camping spots line the shoreline, each more exposed than the last to the frequent winds.

Completely undeveloped — no facilities, no water source beyond the lake itself (filter required), and definitely no cell service. Weather changes fast up here, so come prepared for everything from sun to snow even in summer. The midnight sun in June creates an otherworldly camping experience.
