Esso Vanderhoof — Highway 16 Central Interior Fuel Stop

Vanderhoof sits at the geographic centre of British Columbia and the Esso here on Highway 16 is a genuine overlander utility stop — diesel and regular unleaded, a small convenience store for last-minute resupply, and ATM access. The town has a grocery store and a Canadian Tire a few blocks off the highway if you need anything more substantial before dropping into the Lakes District or running north toward Fort St. James and Stuart Lake. Cell service is solid in town; enjoy it before it gets patchy on the FSRs.

For rigs heading toward the Tchesinkut Lake FSR–Murray Ridge corridor out of Burns Lake, Vanderhoof is a logical top-up point roughly halfway between Prince George and Burns Lake on Highway 16. Don’t count on fuel west of here matching these prices — Vanderhoof is a competitive market. Propane refills are available in town; confirm at the Canadian Tire location before assuming.
