Elliott Highway Natural Spring
This natural spring bubbles up beside the Stuart Highway about 60km north of Tennant Creek, providing clean freshwater year-round. The water comes from deep aquifers and stays cool even in summer heat. Road trains and grey nomads stop here regularly to top up tanks. A concrete trough and standpipe make filling easy, though the flow rate is modest — allow time for big tanks.
No facilities beyond the spring itself, but there’s room to park multiple vehicles off the highway. The spring runs consistently even in dry years. Located on the east side of the highway with good access for large rigs.
