Driskill Mountain
Don’t expect alpine drama — Louisiana’s high point is a gentle wooded hill in Bienville Parish, marked by a modest summit sign. The half-mile trail winds through typical Louisiana pine forest with some hardwood mixed in. It’s more of a curiosity stop than a destination, but peak baggers make the pilgrimage and it’s a pleasant leg-stretcher.
Access via a rough gravel road that’s fine for any vehicle in dry conditions but can get sketchy when wet. No facilities at the trailhead beyond a small parking area. Combine it with nearby Kisatchie trails for a full day in the woods.
