Dalanzadgad Tourist Camp — Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park Gateway
Dalanzadgad is the last honest piece of infrastructure before you push west into Bayanzag, Moltsog Els, or Khongoryn Els. Several established ger camps and fenced tourist campgrounds operate on the edge of town — the most documented is the Three Camel Lodge satellite facility and the government-affiliated Gobi Camp near the national park administration building. Expect basic fenced sites, squat toilets, and cold or solar-heated showers depending on the season. Generators run in the evenings. It’s not glamping — it’s a functional basecamp with fuel, a market, and a mechanic within reach.
Access is straightforward: Dalanzadgad sits at the end of the paved road from Ulaanbaatar. Confirm camp availability directly — facilities can be block-booked by tour groups. June through September is peak season. Stock up on fuel, water, and spare food here; the tracks west are long, rough, and unforgiving on supplies.
Last real camp before the deep Gobi.
