Coroico Valley Dispersed Camping

Scattered camping spots in the cloud forest valleys below Death Road with year-round water and perfect temperatures.

Multiple informal camping areas dot the lush valleys around Coroico, where the climate shifts from harsh altiplano to subtropical cloud forest. Water flows year-round from mountain streams, temperatures stay comfortable, and the scenery is pure jungle — a complete change from the stark highlands above. Local farmers don’t mind overlanders camping respectfully on unused land.

Access varies from easy dirt roads to rough 4WD tracks depending on how remote you want to get. Rainy season (December-March) can make some spots muddy but never truly inaccessible. This is coca-growing country, so be respectful and don’t wander onto working farms without permission.
