Coroico Town Center

Mountain town at the end of Death Road with fuel, food, and lodging — the traditional finish point for the world's most dangerous drive.

Coroico sits at 1,760 meters in Bolivia’s Yungas region, marking the end of the infamous Death Road descent from La Paz. This small mountain town offers basic services including fuel stations, restaurants, small markets, and simple hostels. The main plaza area has a few ATMs and the town serves as a hub for coca leaf farming in the surrounding valleys.

Most overlanders arrive here after the harrowing 3-hour drive down from La Cumbre pass. The town gets busy with mountain biking tour groups during dry season (May-October). Fuel is available but limited to regular gasoline and diesel — no premium options. Stock up on supplies as the next significant town is hours away.
