Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Mondeaux Flowage

Dispersed Camping

This 265-acre flowage sits deep in the national forest with a handful of primitive sites scattered around the shoreline and back in the timber. Most spots are first-come, first-served and you’ll find fire rings, vault toilets, and a decent boat launch, but no drinking water or hookups. Sites vary from lakefront openings that handle big rigs to tucked-away spots in the pines better suited for smaller setups.

Access is via Forest Road 106, which is gravel but well-maintained most of the year. Spring can be soft and muddy, and winter access depends on snowplowing. The area sees fishing pressure during opener and hunting seasons, but midweek and off-season you’ll likely have the place to yourself. Bring water and pack out everything.
