Chequamegon National Forest Perch Lake Dispersed Sites
A handful of primitive sites scattered along the shoreline of Perch Lake, accessible via Forest Road 390. The spots offer direct lake access with small clearings big enough for 2-3 rigs each. Fire rings are present at most sites, with decent overhead cover from mixed hardwoods. Water is available from the lake but needs treatment. Peak busy times are fishing opener in May and fall color season.
Access requires navigating 4.2 miles of maintained gravel on FR 390, then another 1.8 miles on a rougher two-track to reach the lake. Road can get muddy in spring and after heavy rains. No facilities beyond fire rings, so pack everything out. Sites fill up on summer weekends but midweek offers near-guaranteed solitude.
