This state park sits along the Colorado River about 11 miles north of Parker, offering 68 developed sites with hookups plus day-use areas. The campground has good shade from mesquite and palo verde trees, flush toilets, and hot showers. Sites fill up fast during winter months when snowbirds flock here for the mild weather and river access.
The park road is paved all the way in from Highway 95. Swimming beach and boat ramp make this a solid basecamp for river activities. Summer temps can hit 115°F, so most overlanders prefer October through April. Reservations strongly recommended in peak season.
