Boya Lake Provincial Park

Remote boreal lake campground on the Cassiar Highway with crystal-clear water and decent fishing.

Tucked into the northern BC wilderness, Boya Lake sits like a hidden gem along the Cassiar Highway. The water runs impossibly clear — you can see bottom at 20 feet. Fifteen sites scattered through spruce forest, most with lake views. Fire rings and pit toilets, but no potable water so bring your own or filter from the lake. Sites handle anything up to a 30-footer, though the access road has some washboard sections.

Open May through September weather permitting. No reservations, so it’s first-come basis during peak summer. The place fills up with anglers chasing lake trout and northern pike. Expect bugs in July but the scenery makes up for it.
