Binns Track Omeo Trailhead
The western terminus of the Binns Track sits on the outskirts of Omeo, marked by Parks Victoria signage and a small gravel staging area. This is where most overlanders begin their run through the Victorian high country toward Mount Hotham. The trailhead features basic trail information, seasonal closure notices, and enough space for 4-5 vehicles to park and prepare.
Access is via sealed road from Omeo township, then 500 meters of gravel. The track beyond requires high-clearance 4WD and is typically closed from June to October due to snow. Check Parks Victoria alerts before departing — conditions change rapidly in the alpine zone.
