Bagdad Chase Historic Ruins
The ghost town of Bagdad Chase represents the boom-and-bust cycle of Mojave Desert mining, its scattered concrete foundations and rusted machinery telling stories of early 20th-century railroad prosperity. This Santa Fe Railway stop once served the nearby Bagdad Mine and provided water and supplies for steam locomotives crossing the desert. Today, only ruins remain scattered across the creosote flats, including concrete building foundations, mine tailings, and the occasional piece of railroad debris.
The site sits directly on the historic Mojave Road between Ludlow and Daggett, making it an easy stop for overlanders running this classic route. Exercise caution around old mining infrastructure and respect private property boundaries that may exist in the area.
