Baker Creek Campground — Great Basin National Park
Baker Creek Campground sits along Baker Creek at roughly 8,000 feet inside Great Basin National Park, tucked under mountain mahogany and pine with the Snake Range rising steeply behind you. It’s a legitimate developed site with vault toilets and fire grates — no hookups, no frills. Sites fill fast in summer, especially on weekends when folks are gunning for Lehman Caves or Wheeler Peak. Quiet, cool even in July, and the creek runs clear most of the season.
Access is paved to the campground entrance on Baker Creek Road off NV-488 — easy for any rig. No reservations taken; it’s first-come. The camp typically opens May and closes with first hard freeze. No generators during quiet hours. Cell signal is essentially nonexistent inside the park — plan accordingly.
