Gravel Lake Territorial Campground — Silver Trail
Gravel Lake Territorial Campground is a Yukon government site sitting on the Silver Trail between Mayo and Keno City — right in the middle of the overland corridor that feeds the Keno Hill Summit road and the Mayo to Minto Lake mining roads. It’s a small, quiet boreal camp with a lake view, pit toilets, fire rings, and the kind of solitude you get when you’re north of the 63rd parallel and the tourist traffic has thinned to nothing. Fishing for lake trout and grayling is the main draw beyond a flat spot to sleep.
Access is via the Silver Trail (Yukon Highway 11), which is paved to Mayo and gravel beyond. High-clearance vehicles recommended past Mayo. Water from the lake only — bring your own or treat. Seasonal operation. If you’re running the Keno City Summit road or staging the Stewart River plateau, this is your best developed overnight option short of Mayo town itself. Cell service is essentially nonexistent out here.
