Tatchun Hill Territorial Campground — Klondike Highway

Established Campground

Tatchun Hill is a quiet Yukon government campground tucked into the boreal forest along the North Klondike Highway, roughly halfway between Carmacks and Stewart Crossing. It’s a legitimate overnight stop for rigs running toward Mayo, the Silver Trail, or pushing north to Dawson — not a destination camp, but a solid, maintained site with outhouses, fire pits, and picnic tables. Low traffic compared to the lake-based camps further south. Expect spruce forest, birdsong, and darkness at night.

Access is straightforward off the paved Klondike Highway — any rig can get in here. Spring through early fall is the window; it closes with the season. No hookups, no drinking water on tap — treat what you carry or pull from the river. Good staging point before the Stewart Crossing junction.
