Yolosa Village

Small Yungas village partway down Death Road with basic supplies and the last reliable fuel before Coroico.

Yolosa clings to the mountainside about halfway through the Death Road descent, offering a crucial resupply point for overlanders. This small village has a basic tienda (corner store), simple restaurant, and one fuel pump that’s not always operational. The setting is dramatic — perched on narrow terraces carved into nearly vertical slopes with the valley floor still far below.

The village sees regular traffic from Death Road travelers and locals moving between the highlands and lowlands. Fuel availability can be spotty, especially during rainy season when supply trucks struggle with road conditions. If the pump is dry, Coroico is your next option about 45 minutes further down the mountain.
