Barkerville Historic Town — Bowron Lake Road Resupply
Barkerville is a fully restored Gold Rush-era town operated as a provincial heritage site, sitting at the end of Highway 26 east of Quesnel. For overlanders working the Cariboo or pushing toward the Bowron Lakes circuit, this is a real resupply node with a general store, restaurant, and fuel available at the site or in nearby Wells (3 km west). The townsite is well worth an hour of your time — over 120 restored buildings, costumed interpreters, and a genuine sense of just how far out these miners were operating in 1862.
Wells BC just down the road has a gas station and additional supplies. Road to Barkerville is paved. This is high elevation — snow is possible September through June. Day use fees apply to enter the townsite. Campground at Lowhee or Government Hill Recreation Sites nearby for overnights.
Gold Rush ghost town with fuel and groceries nearby.
