Smithers — Riverside Park Municipal Campground
Riverside Park sits on the Bulkley River inside Smithers town limits — about as convenient as it gets for resupplying before you push into the Telkwa Range or head north toward Terrace. Full-service sites with power hookups alongside dry camping spots, flush toilets, and showers. It fills up mid-July through August with a mix of RVs and overlanders, but there’s almost always room for a rooftop tent rig. Fire rings on most sites.
Operated by the District of Smithers. Reservations available online in summer — walk-ins usually fine in shoulder season. Paved access right from Highway 16. Use it as a laundry-and-resupply night before heading into the backcountry.
Town basecamp on the Bulkley River.
