Top of the World Store

This iconic log structure claims to be America’s highest elevation gas station, sitting at 9,600 feet with commanding views across Montana, Wyoming, and Yellowstone. Open seasonally from roughly late May through early October, weather permitting. The Beartooth Highway closes completely in winter, so this place hibernates under deep snow for six months. Expect crowds during summer weekends as this is a mandatory photo stop for most Beartooth travelers.
