BLM Sheep Creek Dispersed Area
Primitive dispersed sites spread along Sheep Creek wash on BLM land, offering classic Mojave Desert camping with scattered creosote and Joshua trees. Sites are informal but well-established, accommodating everything from tents to large RVs on mostly flat desert pavement. Popular with astronomy folks due to dark skies. No shade, gets hot in summer.
Access via maintained dirt road from Highway 14. Some washboarding but passable in any vehicle. No facilities whatsoever, bring everything including water. Best visited October through April when temps are reasonable.
