Ouachita National Forest Albert Pike Dispersed Area

Dispersed Camping

Albert Pike stretches along the Caddo River with scattered dispersed sites tucked into pine and hardwood forest. Most spots sit within earshot of flowing water, with natural swimming holes and deep pools perfect for cooling off after dusty trail time. Sites vary from riverside pull-offs to elevated spots back in the trees. Popular with hunters in fall and swimmers in summer, but plenty of elbow room most times of year.

Access via Forest Road 106 — maintained gravel that any vehicle can handle, though some individual sites require higher clearance to reach. No facilities except for a few fire rings left by previous campers. River water needs treatment. Area can flood during heavy rains, so scout conditions before setting up near the water.
