Angeles National Forest Mill Creek Summit Dispersed Area

Mill Creek Summit sits at 4,910 feet along the Angeles Crest Highway with dispersed camping opportunities on USFS roads branching north and south from the summit. Sites offer cooler temperatures than the valleys below and distant city views on clear days. Popular escape from LA heat during summer months, but can see snow in winter. Fire restrictions typically May through November.

Access directly from Highway 2 at Mill Creek Summit. Most sites require short drives on graded forest roads suitable for high-clearance vehicles. Water available at Charlton Flat picnic area 5 miles east. Expect crowds on weekends — arrive early for best site selection.
