This Nature Conservancy preserve protects one of Arizona’s last free-flowing desert rivers, creating a green corridor of cottonwoods, willows, and wildlife in the Sonoran Desert. The visitor center sits alongside crystal-clear pools where desert bighorn sheep come to drink. Miles of walking trails wind through habitats that support over 280 bird species.
Day-use only, no camping allowed on-site. Located right off Highway 60 near Wickenburg with easy paved access. Open Wednesday through Sunday, closes during extreme heat days in summer. Bring water and stay on marked trails – the preserve is serious about protecting this fragile ecosystem.
