Robbers Cave State Park Belle Starr View Trailhead
The Belle Starr View Trail starts from the main park area and climbs through sandstone formations to a commanding overlook of the Robbers Cave valley. The 1.5-mile trail passes through the same rock shelters and caves where Belle Starr and other outlaws supposedly hid from federal marshals in the 1880s. Stone steps and handrails make the steeper sections manageable for most hikers.
Parking fills up on weekends during fall color season (October-November). The trailhead is clearly marked near the park store and has restrooms and water available. Trail can be muddy after rain due to clay soils.
