Letchworth State Park Campground
Letchworth spans 14,000 acres along the Genesee River gorge with three distinct camping areas: Highbanks (electric sites), Lowbanks (primitive), and St. Helena (group camping). The park’s 17-mile gorge features three major waterfalls and 400-foot cliffs. Sites range from basic tent spots to RV-ready loops with hookups, most offering decent spacing under mature hardwoods. Peak foliage season (late September) books solid, but spring and summer offer better availability.
Access via NY Route 19A or Castile entrance — both paved but the park roads wind considerably. Facilities include hot showers, restrooms, and a camp store. The Finger Lakes Trail passes through, connecting to broader regional hiking networks. Winter camping available in select loops, though facilities are limited November through March.
