Cascadas de Tamul Trailhead

Trailhead

The official trailhead for Cascadas de Tamul sits in the village of Aquismón, with a small parking area that fills up quickly during dry season weekends. The 105-meter waterfall requires a 45-minute hike through jungle terrain, then a river crossing by canoe (arranged with local guides). Basic facilities include pit toilets and a small palapa selling drinks.

The parking area is just packed dirt with room for maybe 15 vehicles, but overflow parking is available in town for a small fee. River levels determine canoe access – during low water periods (March-May), you might need to hike an extra kilometer upstream to reach the falls viewpoint.
