Maple Canyon Campground
Seventeen sites scattered along Maple Creek in a surprisingly lush canyon carved through the Sanpete Mountains. The campground sits at the base of dramatic orange conglomerate walls — cobblestone cemented together millions of years ago — that create some of Utah’s most unique climbing. Sites range from creek-side spots shaded by huge cottonwoods to more exposed sites higher up the canyon walls. Most sites handle rigs up to 30 feet, though a few are tent-only.
Access requires 5 miles of maintained gravel that any vehicle can handle. Water spigots scattered throughout, vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables at each site. Gets busy with climbers April through October, especially weekends. Winter access depends on snow levels — the gate may close.
