Killarney Provincial Park George Lake Campground
George Lake Campground delivers wilderness vibes with car access convenience. The 121 sites spread across rolling Canadian Shield granite between George Lake’s turquoise waters and towering white pine. Most sites sit directly on pink granite slabs with unfiltered views across the lake to the La Cloche Mountains. Facilities include vault toilets, hand-pump wells, and fire rings. The famous Chikanishing Creek Trail to the Crack starts right from the campground loop.
Access requires the 7-kilometer gravel Chikanishing Road — rough but manageable for any vehicle with patience. The campground operates May through October only. Reservations essential for summer weekends as this is considered Ontario’s most scenic car camping. Sites 80-90 offer the best granite-slab lake access for morning coffee sessions.
