Leaf River County WMA Pine Ridge Dispersed Area
A network of sandy two-tracks winds through mature longleaf pine stands with occasional small clearings suitable for tent or rooftop tent camping. No facilities whatsoever — just you, the pines, and whatever gear you packed. Fire rings appear randomly where previous campers have set up, though bring your own firewood as deadfall is scarce in the managed forest.
Access via County Road 42 then follow the main forest road east for about 3 miles. Gates may be locked during hunting seasons (November-February). The sand gets soft after rain, so air down if needed. Zero cell service once you’re back in the trees.
