Red Creek Natural Spring
This spring bubbles up from limestone bedrock and feeds into Red Creek, creating a reliable freshwater source even during dry spells. The water runs clear and cold year-round, though you’ll want to filter or treat it before drinking. There’s a small clearing next to the spring where you can park a couple of rigs and fill containers.
Access is via Forest Road 364 from Highway 26, about 8 miles of decent gravel that most high-clearance vehicles can handle. The spring sits in a small grove of hardwoods, so there’s some shade. Popular with locals who know about it, but not heavily trafficked. Bring containers — no infrastructure here, just the natural spring.
Reliable limestone spring in De Soto forest.
